3 Must-try parkruns on Sydney's North Shore
Parkrun is one of the rare events in Australia (and around the world) that remains free. Whether it's the scenery, the greenery, or the coffee afterwards, here's our top picks on the North Shore.

Every Saturday at 8am in over 500 different locations around Australia begins Parkrun, a free weekly 5 kilometer timed run. You can choose to run, walk, volunteer or spectate, meaning there is something for everyone.
Here are 3 local parkruns to try in the North Shore.
North Sydney Parkrun: For the post-run coffee options
Starting near the sandstone picnic shelter opposite Bon Andrews Oval. You’ll run past Tunks Fountain around the War Memorial, along Ridge and Miller Street before climbing up Falcon Street.
The route includes a few gentle inclines, particularly along Falcon Street, before finishing on the grass area next to the sandstone hut. There are plenty of cafes nearby to have your post run debrief, with most park runners heading to Sotto On West.
Willoughby Parkrun: For the greenery
Starting on the eastern side of Artarmon Reserve, this scenic course includes both an inner and outer lap of the reserve. The route takes runners past the Willoughby Leisure Centre, through the Indigenous Art Work tunnel and under the Gore Hill Freeway. The course features several turns but is well marked and also marshalled.
Mosman Parkrun: For the scenery
Mosman parkrun is at Spit West Reserve and is a beautiful 3 loop course along the water's edge. The course starts on the grass reserve then heads along the shared walking/bike path up to Pearl Bay Avenue then back towards the Spit Marina where it turns through the playground and back through the start line.
Remember to register online at parkrun.com before your first run and print/screenshot your barcode to get your time recorded. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just starting out, Parkrun always offers a welcoming atmosphere perfect for a Saturday morning solo or family activity.
