What’s happening in the North Shore in March? A whole lot! Events coming up include a comedy club in a historic setting, an affordable arts fair in Willoughby and free yoga at the Coal Loader.

🍷 Wahroonga Wine and Food Festival

When: Sunday March 2, 11am to 5pm
Where: Wahroonga Park
Cost: Free entry

Each year, the Wahroonga Food and Wine Festival brings together a wealth of local vendors offering everything from quality wines to mouth-watering food.

Held in Wahroonga Park, this family-friendly event also features live music and entertainment for the kids. This year, the festival is called “Sparkling Wahroonga”.

You can pre-purchase tasting packages here from $38.50, choosing from more than 60 sparkling wines, together with each winemaker’s selected wine portfolio of reds, whites, and rosés.

You can also savour an array of dishes from local food vendors, including Lucio Pizzeria, Tapasman, Empanadas Che, Smokey Sue’s BBQ, Fish Face Bar & Grill, Alejandro’s Authentic Italian, Wagyu Blacks, The Gnocchi Way, Yulli’s. There will also be artisan cheeses and charcuterie, desserts and gelato.

🍂 Autumn Harmony Festival Lane Cove

Autumn Harmony is held in March each year and celebrates diversity and inclusion in Lane Cove. All events embrace and encourage community participation, inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging.

The major event this March is Resilience and Radiance, celebrating NSW Women's Week and International Women's Day. The exhibition is curated by Sarah Rose, celebrating female artists who identify as LGBT+.

When: Tuesday March 4 to Saturday March 8
Where: Gallery Lane Cove

🧘 Wellness Wednesdays at the Coal Loader

When: March 5, 12, 19 and 26, from 7:30am to 8:20am
Where: The Coal Loader Centre for Sustainability
Cost: Free for local residents

Including pilates, yoga, meditation and strength training (disciplines vary each week) at the stunning waterfront Coal Loader Platform. Suitable for all levels of experience and ability.

🎤 Hayden Orpheum Comedy Club

When: Wednesday March 12 at 8:30pm
Where: Hayden Orpheum Picture Palace
Cost: $27.50 including booking fee

The Hayden Orpheum Comedy Club in Cremorne features a mix of well-known comedians, cult favorites and emerging talent. Curated by the Comedy Store, it is recommended for audiences aged 15 and over.

Where: Rochfort Gallery, North Sydney
Cost: Entry is free

Barbara Campbell-Allen (OAM) is a well-acknowledged ceramic artist from Sydney and the River Runs Deep is her latest solo exhibition at the impressive Rochfort Gallery. Her work explores the connection between landscape, geology, and ceramics and draws from from her nine-day rafting journey down Tasmania’s Franklin River.

☘️ St Patrick’s Day Weekend at the Rag & Famish

When: Friday 14th March until Monday 17th March, 7am until 11am for the Irish breakfasts and live music Friday and Sunday evenings
Where: Rag & Famish Hotel, North Sydney
Cost: Free entry

This historic North Sydney pub is putting on a weekend long celebration in honour of the Irish patron saint, packed with Irish spirit, delicious food and live music.

A full Irish breakfast (pork sausage, eggs, bread, black pudding, hash browns, beans, mushrooms and bacon) will be available 7am until 11am (or until sold out).

Live traditional music will be on Friday evening from 6pm until 9pm and Sunday from 3pm until 6pm.

🖼️ Affordable Art Fair and Market Day

When: Sunday 23rd March 9am - 3pm
Where: Willoughby Arts Centre
Cost: Free entry

Willoughby Arts Centre throws open its doors on Sunday 23 March for the annual Art Fair and Market Day. With over 1,000 affordable art works and ceramics on offer, prices start at $20. Grab a coffee or a bite to eat and browse the market stalls with art books and materials, cakes, jams, jewellery and more. There are often long queues on opening so make sure you arrive early if you want first look at what's on offer.

📚 Stanton Library lunchtime events

Where: Stanton Library, North Sydney
When: Varies; usually weekdays at 1pm
Cost: Free

One of the only free lunchtime events in Sydney organised in partnership with Constant Reader Bookshop, Stanton Library’s author lineup in March has something for everyone.

Highlights include a talk from sustainability guru Lottie Dalziel, investigative journalist Jess Hill on her upcoming quarterly essay, renowned author Robert Dessaix on his new memoir, and Dr. Joshua Krook on the ethics of AI.
